HIPPA & HITECH

If you have a question about how you safeguard your client data, consult us first. Changes to the law have made all agents liable for breaches of HIPPA if you have not changed the way you do business--you may be headed for trouble. Good business and confidentiality practices are not a choice, they are the law.

Medicare Advantage and PDP

If you are not certified annually, you will not be paid renewal commissions even if the product is no longer for sale in your state. To be paid on in force business you must test.

E&O Insurance Requirement - URGENT !

You must provide Proof of E&O Coverage on/before March 31, 2010 or your Coventry contract will be terminated without cause effective April 1, 2010.

Existing agents whose contract effective date is prior to September 21, 2009 had until January 1, 2010 to submit proof of E&O coverage to the Coventry Medicare Broker Services Department (BSD).

E&O coverage must be at minimum $1,000,000 per incident and $1,000,000 per year.
Must carry the insurance in the individual's name only.
- A blanket policy is acceptable if the individual's name is attached on agency letterhead.
A Declaration Page or Certificate will be required as Proof of Coverage.

Procedure to Submit Proof of E&O Coverage:

Submit proof of E&O coverage to the BSD by fax, email or by mail.
